Adverbial Clause

Adverbial clause
An adverbial clause is a clause the explain adjective and verbs, that functions as an adverb. In other words, it contains a subject (expilicit or implied) and a predicate, and it modifies a verb.
The examples of adverbial clause among others:
1.  1. Adverb Clause of  Time
  Adverb clause of time are introduced by subordinating conjunction after,before, since, etc.
  Example:        
  • Wash your hands before eating.
  • I helped mom after school.
  • Mr. Abdul teaches religion, while Mrs. Sheila teaches eanglish.
2.  2. Adverb Clause of Reason
   Adverb clause of reason are introduced by subordinating conjunction because, since, as, etc.
   Example:           
  • I cant come to show the concert because, i must doing my homework.
  • The old lady had died since a few month ago.
  • As the test is difficult, you had better get some sleep.
3.  3. Adverb Clause of condition
  Adverb clause of condition are introduced by subordinating conjunction if, unless, whether, atc.
  Example:
  • If you invite me, i will ome your party.
  • You must do this whether, you like it or not.
  • We wont go unless he arrives soon. which
4.  4. Adverb Clause of Place
  Adverb clause of place are introduced by subordinating conjunction where, wherever, anywhere, etc.
  Example:
  • You can put it wherever you like to be.
  • Wherever you are, i will be there for you.
  • The guard stood where he was positioned.
5. 5. Adverb Clause of Purpose
 Adverb clauses of purpose are introduced by the subordinating conjunctions lest, so that, in order to etc.
 Examples:
  • Save money in the pocket lest get lost one the road.
  • Come here so that i could teach you traditional dance.
  • He was invited to the function in order to show him how wonderfully this function has been organized.
